Chavasse House

Chavasse House is named in memory of Capt Noel Chavasse VC & Bar MC. He was serving as the Medical Officer for the 1/10th Liverpool Scottish Battalion, 55th (West Lancashire) Division, when he was awarded his first VC, for his gallantry on the 9th August 1916, saving wounded men from no-mans-land. The action took place in the area between Arrow Head Copse and Guillemont, just over a mile north from the Farm and Hardecourt.Features of Chavasse House
- Sleeps up to twelve people
- Comprises of a lounge and dining room traditionally furnished, with an open wood burning fire (wood is available to buy in the barn). There is a television and video, with a large collection of videos (Great War, documentaries, films and comedy). In the bookcase you will find nearly one hundred books on the Great War. There are also trench maps and planned walks for the surrounding area.
- Fully modernized kitchen - electric hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster and a full range of pots, pans, plates and utensils.
- There are four large bedrooms in all.
- Downstairs there are two large double bedrooms
- Upstairs there are two large bedrooms. One bedroom has a double and two single beds, and the fourth bedroom has four single beds and also has an extra washbasin.
- All beds are provided with complete bedding and linen.
- Two large bathrooms, one downstairs consisting of sink, bath with overhead shower and separate toilet. Upstairs the new bathroom consist of a sink, stand in shower and toilet (towels are not provided).
- The billet has oil central heating throughout which is easily regulated by a thermostat.
- Outside you have your own patio and barbecue and plenty of off road parking.
